Gamepad

Here's a small preview of how a may run my Logitech Gamepad.
The pic does'nt show all the buttons and with code I can make each
button do something different by holding another button down.
I'll figure it out as I write the code.

Looks very cool man! What kind of range will the controller have? The phidget thing replaces the need for a PC right?

Nice work man!!! Keep at it!!

I have tested it's range at about 25 feet, But I think it will reach further.
I'll need a PC inside R2 to run the Phidgets and it will also run my video and sound.
Thanks Dude!

G'day, I like your work and I am a fan of MRDS as well, I think that with a motherboard inside your r2d2 you can program som realy cool autonomous behaviours and things like a r2d2 speech engine.
cheers

Thanks for the comment Tulkas!!
I do have some future ideas that I will be working on.
Once I get a good grip on learning C#, This will open alot of new features for R2.
One of the ideas I will work on is:
A tracking device inside R2, So when I'm walking around he will be able to follow me at a short distance. Maybe video can do this, I'm not sure. And speech would be AWESOME!!!

Pretty soon, we'll be hearing from your R2 through emails!!! LOL

It looks similar to a Playstation keypad. Do the thumb sticks click in when you press them? If you hit two different buttons simultaneously, will it do something else? That would be alot for you to work with. Cool stuff!!!
Did I mention I was getting a Boba Fett helmet? Tee Hee
I'll let you know when it gets started. And I'll be posting progress on my blog of course. Still waiting on my utility arms....geez!! Had to email the guy and ask what the holdup was, since they were supposed to be packaged and ready to ship before I even made payment.

Hey Guys,
Sorry I have'nt commented backBut C# is about to make me insain!!!
I've been lucky though, Alex and Adren have helped me learn where my mistakes are made and I could'ne have gotten this far without them.

Anyway,
John it is like a Playstation controller, It's just a computer version. With the correct code I can make each button do something different.
Make sure you post some pics of that Fett bucket!!!

Jason,
Yea, With the correct code I could program R2 to follow a certain color or emblem I could wear on my back and he would follow. I hope to learn enough about C# to make this happen.

Man you got me lost with that stuff!!!! LOL
Yeah its gonna be painted by the supplier, but hoping when I have him start it, he will send progress pics. I'm too afraid of painting that bucket myself!!!! But when I start getting other parts, I will do everything myself.
Yeah it seems you have alot of options with that controller if its similar to the PS2 paddle. Now, get this turkey moving....will ya?!!!!!!!!
